Carnforth Rotary Club Helps Local Scouts to Attend World Jamboree - 27 February 2015

Carnforth Rotary Club President Bill Reading accompanied by Community and Vocational Committee Chairman Kath Bromilow presented a cheque last week at Yealand Village Hall for £500 to assist four young people who have been selected by the Lancaster and Morecambe District Scouts (Lonsdale) to represent the area at the World Scout Jamboree 2015 which is taking place in Japan.

The 4 Scouts, Alice Steele, Lydia Maun, Luke Wilkinson and Patrick Wilkinson are also undertaking fundraising activities to finance the trip. Jamborees have been running every four years since 1920 and enable young people to form friendships which will last a life time, and from the experience develop skills and knowledge to be good citizens in our local communities. The theme for the 2015 Jamboree is 'Unity'.
